MESSENGER: To email an item for the Messenger send it to two (2) email addresses:
- to messenger@stjohns-episcopal.com
- AND TO Jane Baier at MJBAIER@aol.com .
CRITERIA for the MESSENGER, the SUNDAY BULLETIN, and the BULLETIN BOARDS,
approved by the Vestry 11-19-2006:
(Copies of these Criteria are available on the Bulletin Board by the Kitchen.)
The purpose of these 3 in-house resources is to help members keep
up-to-date on news and plans.
Issues should not be advocated in these resources.
Articles must be written for the general reader. Articles are
subject to editing for space, language, content and general
interest at the discretion of the Editors.
The MESSENGER deadline is 5pm,   usually on the 15th of the previous month.
In some months, eg. November (for the December Messenger) the deadline is several days earlier,
and is announced in that month's (ie. the November) Messenger.
The criteria for Announcements in SUNDAY BULLETINS are the same
as for the Messenger (above),
only the deadline, space, frequency and distribution are different.
Please email
announcements for the Sunday Bulletin,   by Noon on Wednesdays,
to bulletin@stjohns-episcopal.com .
Call the Parish Office for more information.
Flyers on the BULLETIN BOARDS are not distributed by the parish,
so different interests may appear in them than in the Messenger.
But these flyers should be News, not Advocacy of issues.
Flyers are included with the MESSENGER only by the Editor's
decision, and should meet the same content criteria as the rest
of the Messenger (they are received as part of it).
The Editors will note written first-person comments on these
3 resources (but not 'hear-say'), submitted the same way articles are submitted (above).
The Editors are not required to respond to comments on their
decisions, which are final.
CRITERIA for CONTACTS FROM AND TO THE MEDIA,
approved by the Vestry 11-19-2006:
(Copies of these Criteria are available on the Bulletin Board by the Kitchen.)
Only the leadership of the Vestry (ie. the Rector, the two Wardens, and their chosen delegates) represent the Parish.
Everyone else should refer questions from the media to them.
The media means business, contacts with reporters and the media should be business-like. Our family has a right to privacy.
END OF COMMUNICATIONS CRITERIA approved by the Vestry> 11-19-2006.
